Patrons' Board

Let's hear from some of our generous supporters

Stories from our Patrons

Derek Hardy

One of my earliest memories - the 1959 FA Cup Final.

One of the best moments - the Luton crowd singing at Notts County at the end of the game when we had gained promotion. The best moment was winning the Littlewoods Cup.

Alan Robinson

Graham French, Alan Robinson's Favourite Player

Saturday, 18th December 1965 was a memorable day for me as it was when, as a ten year old, my Dad took me to Kenilworth Road for the first time. Even though we lost that day I was hooked.

Since that time there have, of course, been many highs and lows, too many to mention here! One match I will always remember was the 3-3 draw at Liverpool in September 1982 when we had Mal Donaghy in goal all second-half.

Between 1998 and 2002, when Brian Swain was Programme Editor, I had my own page every home game where I featured Luton players who had appeared on cigarette / trade cards - I have quite a collection!

Of course another happy day for me was when I discovered this wonderful website meaning that I am learning new things about our club virtually every day.

Cherry Newbery

Jimmy Yardley, Cherry Newbery's Grandfather

I dedicate this to my Grandfather Jimmy Yardley who played for our great club from 1926 - 1932 making 102 appearances and scoring 71 goals.

Justin Langdon

This photo shows my Father Peter, my Brother Aron, my Son Cillian and myself.

This was my son's first league game, it was the 2nd April 2016 and we lost 0-1 to Stevenage.

I cherish it as it shows three generations of Luton fans together. Sadly Dad passed away in the October of that year, but at least he got to see his grandson attend a Luton game with him.

Derek Blackwell

I have been attending Luton Town matches since the 69/70 season. The first match was a pre-season friendly against Clyde (finished 1-1). From then I have been a frequent visitor to Kenilworth Road, as well as some away games.

Like many LTFC fans, I have witnessed some extraordinary highs (10 seasons in Div 1, winning the Littlewoods Cup and JPT at Wembley) and some lows (relegation from EFL, protracted stadium move with some bizarre proposals, such as move to MK).

However, the club is in great hands now and has an exceptional manager and coaching staff. With a new stadium finally moving forward, I look forward to the days of LTFC playing in the Premier League to crowds of over 20,000.

The Hatters Heritage website is a brilliant idea and has fantastic resources for fans, like myself, who like to reminisce on matches and players from days gone by. Being a Patron is a privilege and I would like to thank all those volunteers who have put in a tremendous amount of work into getting it established.
