Christopher Perry
Christopher Perry Date of Birth: Apr 26, 1973 Share "Christopher Perry" on FacebookChris arrived at Kenilworth Road at the age of 34, a vastly experienced campaigner recruited to pair up with Chris Coyne in central defence. In the ill-fated 2007-8 season he made 45 appearances in a Luton shirt in all competitions, scoring once.
He departed in March 2008 with just eight games left in League One that season, only one of which was won. With Coyne already gone, Luton were left woefully short in defence and slipped to an inevitable second successive relegation, assisted by a points deduction.
Earlier in his career Surrey-born Chris had made 442 senior appearances, the vast majority at Premier League level with Wimbledon, Tottenham (where he cost a club record £4 million), Charlton and WBA, although not quite achieving the heights predicted by Alex Ferguson and Joe Kinnear who publicly tipped him as future England material.
Apart from a couple of high-profile errors, Chris toiled manfully in Luton colours before seeing out his playing days at Southampton. He then moved into youth coaching at Dagenham and Millwall as well as the world of media punditry.
