Sam Parkin

Sam Parkin Date of Birth: Mar 14, 1981

Big striker who joined Luton from Ipswich for £340,000 in summer 2006.To say he was unlucky with injuries would be an understatement. He arrived having just recovered from a broken ankle, but after just eight games more problems led to a 15-month period where he only appeared twice. His long-awaited comeback saw him head a brilliant 90th minute equaliser against Leeds, sparking ecstatic scenes at the Kenny.

Sam’s injury-plagued three-year stay coincided with the various financial crises that saw Town relegated three times and plummet out of the Football League. He made 54 appearances in all competitions, often as a sub, and netted ten goals.

Still only 28, he left in summer 2009 and turned out for Walsall, St Johnstone, Queen of the South, St Mirren and his 14th and final club, Exeter City. After calling it a day he has taken on taken on media work as a TV and radio pundit and podcast host.
