In three years at first club Millwall, Billy mustered only one substitute appearance as he did at his next port of call, Luton, coming on in a 3-0 home win over Blackpool in 1973. A move to Barnet followed and then on to Wimbledon where his goals helped fire them into the Football League in 1977 but he then swiftly left in an £8,000 transfer to Hereford.
Billy’s League career finished at Brentford before he spent time at Aylesbury. Billy sadly died at the tragically young age of 37 in 1988.
