James Osborn

James Osborn Date of Birth: Apr 27, 1984

James was born in London where he represented his local boroughs Camden & Islington District as well as Middlesex County in school competitions. He joined the Luton Town youth system, signing scholarship forms in June 2000. From midfield he stood out in the youth teams, quickly becoming captain across all the age groups he played in, forming a tremendous partnership with Lee Mansell in central midfield. Eventually becoming a regular fixture in the Luton Town reserves, he was unable to take that final step in order to break into the first team squad. Osborn was an unused substitute in the LDV Vans Trophy match against Dagenham & Redbridge before making his debut in a youthful Hatters side against Woking in the LDV Vans Trophy in October 2002. That was Osborn’s one and only appearance for Luton Town, before being released by Joe Kinnear on 16th March 2003 alongside youth team colleagues Joe Deeney and Rob Gillman.

Osborn was snapped up by Harrow Borough manager Edwin Stein, who was himself, briefly a Luton Town player, like his brothers Brian and Mark. Osborn also played for Hitchin Town during his career.
