William Furr
William Furr Date of Birth: Jul 22, 1891 Share "William Furr" on FacebookBorn in Barnet in 1891, William and his brothers were raised in Hitchin where the family had a fishmongers business.
Playing for Hitchin on the wing, William had trials at Everton before signing up at Brentford for a short spell and then getting his big break at Leicester Fosse joining up with his goalkeeping brother.
Sadly he made only one appearance for Fosse and after an unsuccessful trial at Luton in 1913 the Great War took over.
Coming back to Luton in 1919 he made one appearance on the wing on the opening day of 1919-20 before seeing out the rest of his career at Letchworth.
William passed away in Biggleswade in 1975.
