the national lottery heritage fund project
Hatters’ Heritage is an independent charity which has received a major grant from the National Heritage Lottery Fund to complete a two year project. The main aim was to digitise an archive of 35,000 items, to be uploaded to a major new website over the years ahead.
The project required the recruitment of a team of volunteers to carry out the work of scanning, cataloguing and uploading the materials for the website.
The majority of the items are
paper – programmes, tickets, photographs, minute books, articles etc and
the website has been engineered to enable the items to be linked to the
matches, players, seasons and teams with which they are associated.
This work is important because the collections are currently uninsured and designated as 'at risk' by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Under the stewardship of the
trustee of Hatters' Heritage, the project aims to build and maintain a
team which can manage and digitise the collections into the future.
Please get in touch if you would like to become part of our volunteer team. There are a variety of roles to fill.
