EJ Crarer
Edward John Crarer Date of Birth: Feb 10, 1898 Share "EJ Crarer" on FacebookBorn in Perthshire, he received his medical education at the University of Edinburgh and moved to Luton shortly afterwards to join a group practice. He would marry Ursula Brown in 1926 and they’d have two children one of whom, John, would also become a doctor, while the other, Margaret, would marry future club chairman Robert Keens.
Edward served as medical officer for many years in the 30s,40s and 50s. Away from the football club he was a well respected surgeon at Bute Hospital and, dissatisfied with local amenities, an important figure in the opening of the Luton and Dunstable Hospital in 1939, where he would serve as chairman of the Medical Staff.
He passed away in 1970.
