Harry Stansfield

Harold Stansfield Born: 21st July 1878 From:
  1. Manchester
  2. Greater Manchester
  3. England

Born in Manchester in 1878, winger Harry had spells at Manchester City and Preston with little success before joining Stockport in 1900 where he was a regular in their Football League side for four years.

With Stockport failing in a bid for re-election he moved to Tottenham where for three seasons he starred on both the left and right wing and being two footed was able to cut inside to score his fair share of goals.

During his fourth season at White Hart Lane he fell out of favour and decided to move to Luton in the summer of 1908 where he soon became a crowd favourite, remaining virtually ever present for four seasons before an injury took its toll.

He was still sought after with Bristol Rovers taking a chance but it did not work out and he retired from the game.

Harry passed away in 1963.
