Mark Crook

Mark Crook Date of Birth: Jun 29, 1903

Tiny winger Mark was born in Morley in 1903 and after playing for his local side was picked up by Blackpool where he was a regular performer for three years.

A move to Swindon in 1929 was a mistake and he was soon off to Wolves where he enjoyed six seasons which included helping the side to the top flight.

With his appearances dwindling at Molineux the 32 year old came to Luton in May 1935 as back-up to Wilf Crompton on the wing. He made only five League appearances at Kenilworth Road and when Crompton suffered a final career ending knee injury he was left in the reserves so decided to retire from the game.

A lorry driver by trade, he set up the famous Wolves nursery Wath Wanderers before passing away in Mexborough in 1977.
