Bob Weaver
Bob Robert Weaver Date of Birth: May 21, 1910 Share "Bob Weaver" on FacebookBorn in Ponkey, Wales in 1912, Bob was spotted playing local football in Wrexham by Burnley where he joined their groundstaff before signing professional forms in 1930.
He made six appearances over the next two years at Turf Moor before signing for the Town in the summer of 1932 as understudy to forwards Andy Rennie and Tom Tait.
Due to the consistency of the pair, Bobs chances were few and it was not until March 1933 that he got his break, in an away game at Norwich where he scored the Luton goal in a 2-1 defeat.
He played in the next two games without finding the target and with Tait fit to return was relegated back to the reserves.
Bob left at the season’s end to join Bristol City where he fared little better before throwing in his lot with Altrincham.
