Gordon Brice
Gordon Brice Date of Birth: May 4, 1924 Share "Gordon Brice" on FacebookBedford born Gordon signed on for the Hatters during the war but was called up to the Marines almost immediately.
In the first post-war season Gordon made only 13 appearances for the Town, mostly as understudy to centre-half Horace Gager, and it came as a surprise when mighty Wolves paid out £11,000 seeing him as the successor to Stan Cullis.
It did not work out at Molineux and in March 1948 he signed for Reading where he became a terrace favourite. Moving up a grade to Fulham in 1952, Gordon had four years at Craven Cottage before being transferred to Ayr where he also ran an hotel.
Gordon was also a county cricketer for Northants and was living in Bedford at the time of his death in 2003.
