A part-time professional, John had been pushed into a friendly match against Banik Ostrava at Kenilworth Road earlier that season and had starred on the left wing. This gave rise to his elevation to the League eleven but the occasion was a little too much for him and he was not given another opportunity.
After leaving Luton, John had spells at Yiewsley and Amersham before returning to Hemel Hempstead.
