Mick Fairchild Date of Birth: Nov 24, 1942 Share "Mick Fairchild" on FacebookBorn in Northampton, went to school in Gt Yarmouth and spotted while playing for Lowestoft, Mick came to Kenilworth Road in November 1960 and made a scoring debut for the Hatters at a wet Southampton the following April.
As the Town dropped through the divisions, pacey winger Mick had difficulty in winning a regular place and moved to Reading in 1964 where his chances were still limited. After a short spell at Cambridge United, Mick joined Hillingdon where he found his niche.
Mick’s main claim to fame at Hillingdon was in being part of the side that knocked the Hatters out of the F.A.Cup in 1969. An embarrassing afternoon for Luton supporters!
Mick returned to Lowestoft in 1972 and still resides in the area.
