Edmund Hancock
Edmund Hancock Date of Birth: Mar 29, 1907 Share "Edmund Hancock" on FacebookBorn at Denaby Main, Doncaster in 1907, Ted was playing for Gainsborough Trinity when he was picked up by Liverpool in 1931 for whom he played a handful of games. His next stop, Burnley, proved far more fruitful as he was virtually ever present for three seasons.
The Town were pushing for promotion from Division Three (South) in 1936-37 but needed an outside-right following an injury to John Hodge. Hearing that Ted was out of favour at Burnley the Town stepped in and signed him in January 1937 and he proved the final piece in the jigsaw helping the team to the title.
Starting off as first choice the following season an injury after only five games and the subsequent signing of Charlie Ferguson led to him leaving Luton for Lincoln at the end of the campaign.
