Derrick Sydney Allen Born: 18th April 1930 From: Share "Sos Allen" on FacebookAlthough born in Luton, Sos was playing for Alton Town when he was spotted by Hatters scouts and invited to Kenilworth Road where he signed on as an amateur whilst still keeping up a day job as a driver.
After signing full time he made only one appearance, on the wing, in a mid-week game at Derby during the Town’s promotion season of 1954/55.
Realising his chances at Luton were limited he played six games for Watford before moving back into non-league. He was still playing Sunday football right up until his death in 1978.
