My Five Favourite Hatters
James Richardson

As part of our ongoing series, we ask supporters to pick their five favourite Hatters of all time. This week it's the turn of supporter James Richardson.

"I have been a fan since mid 70’s when my Dad took me to the Kenny, versus Hull City, with Billy Bremner playing for them and we drew 1-1. I was hooked. My greatest town memories are also Shrewsbury 4-1 at home to get promoted, and of course being able to take my dad to the Wembley play off final nearly 50 years after he took me to my first Luton game."

milija aleksic
(92 APPEARANCES, 1976-1981)

"The first professional keeper I saw live, stood in front of the old Oak Road in the rain with the old circular light in the Oak Stand and all the Luton fans with their scarves waving. He was agile and fast, no wonder they called him Elastic!

ricky hill
(508 appearances, 65 goals 1976-1989)

"From seeing him break through as a youngster and stay with the club as long as he did. He glided across the muddy pitches and one of only a few who could dribble and run with the ball effortlessly. Just a classy midfielder."

david moss
(245 appearances, 94 goals 1978-1985)

"I first saw him in the first game of the season when we signed 6 or 7 new -players and thrashed Oldham (6-1 I think). Left foot or right foot, brilliant crosser corner taker. Great technically and he found his home in the exciting footballing era of Pleat."

gordon turner
(450 appearances, 276 goals 1950-1964)

"I never saw him play but I have heard so many older fans, including my dad talk of Gordon and his goal scoring prowess. He was absolutely brilliant and in a great Luton Town team and era. I wish I could have seen him play."

james justin
(114 appearances, 6 goals 2016-2019)

"I feel one player from our teams that went from League One and upwards and James Justin is a Luton lad with Luton family supporters who played with us from such a young age, athletic, fast, and a Luton supporter. Very proud of his progress and what he did for the club."

Many thanks to James for taking the time to put together his list and the excellent choices.
