Ricky Hill

Ricky Anthony Hill Date of Birth: Mar 5, 1959

Luton Town legend Ricky burst onto the scene as a 17 year old coming on as substitute in a dull end of season game against Bristol Rovers in 1976 and immediately lit up proceedings by laying on a goal with his first touch and scoring with his second.

After twelve months of being nurtured gently in the reserves Ricky eventually won a regular place which, barring injury, he kept for the next twelve years picking up a promotion to the top flight and England caps along the way.

One of the finest midfielders in the Hatter’s history, combining skill, strength and speed, Ricky left Luton in 1989 to seize a chance of French football with Le Havre.

After taking up coaching posts on both sides of the Atlantic, Ricky answered the call to pick up the reins at Kenilworth Road in 2000. Sadly, the job he craved turned sour which was a great shame for the supporters who all badly wanted him to succeed.
