Willet Ball J.P. Date of Birth: Jul 1, 1873 Share "Willet Ball J.P." on FacebookBorn in Lincoln Willet Ball moved to Luton in 1907. He served for many years as the editor of The Railway Review and was a well known figure in local politics, attempting but failing to win the Luton seat in two General Elections in 1918 and 1923. His trademark was to wear open neck shirts, even in his role as a magistrate.
He served as a club director in the early 30s and his opinion on football was well respected. It was also noted by JJ Hunt, AKA Crusader, that Ball was apparently Luton's only season ticket holder in the 1940/41 wartime season.
His greatest passion was for education and he was still volunteering well into 80s, attending every school sports day to which he was invited. He died in 1962.
