Keeping Kenilworth Road in good shape can’t be an easy task, but it’s one that Fred Bunyan undertook cheerfully for 18 years after joining the club on stadium maintenance in 1969.

A genuine supporter, his Father had worked at the club as did Fred’s wife Mary, who was in the club’s reception office for a spell.

Sadly Fred passed away in April 1987 at the age of just 54, following a short illness. Of him John Moore said, ‘Fred was always a friendly and cheerful figure around Kenilworth Road….(he) was part of the family, in a family club.’
