Abraham Wales
Abraham Wales Date of Birth: Oct 4, 1907 Share "Abraham Wales" on FacebookBorn in Kilwinning in 1907, Abraham had turned out for the local Rangers side, so often a breeding ground for future Luton players, before playing two seasons for Kilmarnock.
He refused further terms at Kilmarnock, preferring to move south, leading to him joining Luton in the summer of 1931, following in the footsteps of his father, also Abraham, who played briefly for the Town in 1905.
Playing regularly for the reserves at inside-right he failed to make the breakthrough into the first team until the final three games of the campaign where he made a dramatic entrance setting up numerous chances in three high-scoring matches.
Leicester City then poached him in the close season but his stint at Filbert Street was short and came to nothing so he returned to Scotland with Queen of the South.
Abraham passed away in Kilwinning in 1976.
