Adam Murray

Adam Murray Date of Birth: Sep 30, 1981

Born in Birmingham, a busy, tough tackling midfielder who could pass, Adam turned professional with Derby County and made his Premier League debut for them in April 1999. He stayed for 6 seasons making 38 top flight appearances and 24 in the 2nd tier after the Rams were relegated. A loan out to Mansfield Town was followed by permanent moves to 7 clubs in the 3rd, 4th and 5th tiers. A move to Oxford United in 2007 proved successful and in three seasons in the Conference, Adam played 97 times scoring 11 goals. He helped Oxford to promotion to the Football League but missed out on the run in due to injury.

Adam was released by Oxford and Richard Money snapped him up and he came to Luton on a two year deal in July 2010. Adam started the new season in the team but lost his place at the end of September and could not get it back. He was quickly loaned out to Mansfield Town initially for 3 months in October and the deal made permanent in January 2011. He played 41 times that first season scoring 7 goals. He was a regular in the next two seasons. He became assistant manager of the first team and coach of the youth team in June 2012. In November he became first team coach and guided the Stags to promotion to the Football League in the 2012/13 season.

Adam mixed up playing and coaching until 2016 when he gave up playing. On leaving Mansfield in November 2016, he became Boston United manager for a year, then on to Barnsley as assistant manager with two spells as caretaker manager. Spells followed at AFC Fylde and Eastbourne Borough. Adam was appointed manager of Kidderminster Harriers in May 2025.
