Adrian Alston

Adrian Alston Date of Birth: Feb 6, 1949

Going nowhere at Preston and working in an egg packing factory it did not take much persuading for Adrian to try his luck in Australia where he became a great success, culminating in playing for his adopted country in the 1974 World Cup finals.

Adrian was about to sign for Hertha Berlin that summer when Luton stepped in and the tricky forward starred as the Hatters made a brave but unsuccessful attempt to avoid relegation from Division One.

Surprisingly transferred to Cardiff for £20,000 in October 1975, Adrian helped the Bluebirds to promotion before joining the exodus to the USA where a knee injury ended his career.
