Alan Clarke
Alan Clarke Born: 10th April 1942 From: Share "Alan Clarke" on FacebookLocal boy Alan shone as a schoolboy and joined the Hatters as an amateur straight from school before finally signing professional forms in October 1961.
Although regarded as a tough tackling wing-half it was on the wing that he played his first five first team appearances towards the back end of the 1961/62 season. Sadly, he failed to win a regular place the following season and moved to Dunstable.
Whilst with Dunstable, Alan gained the distinction of becoming the first ever scorer in a Sunday professional match when netting at Wisbech in March 1967. Alan also played cricket for Dunstable.
