Albert Lindsay Date of Birth: Sep 26, 1881 Share "Albert Lindsay" on FacebookBorn in Hartlepool in 1881, Albert joined Sunderland in 1902 as a promising goalkeeper but in two years at Roker Park managed only three appearances owing to the form of veteran Ned Doig.
Signing for Luton in 1904 enabled him to show off his skills as he missed only one game in 1904-05 behind a weak defence. The chance to go back to the Football League with Glossop in 1905 proved to be a poor decision as he joined a club with two other goalkeepers all vying for the same position and he made only two appearances before returning to the North –East to become a shipyard labourer.
Albert passed away in Hartlepool in 1961.
