Alex Atkinson

Alexander James Atkinson Date of Birth: Jan 3, 1998

Alex was born in North Greenford, London, and played for both the Fulham and Wycombe Wanderers' academy, before joining the Hatters academy in the U15s age group during the 2013/14 season. An attacking midfielder, he was a key part of the Hatters academy team that beat Preston in the 15/16 FA Youth Cup, taking the Town into the Quarter Finals. Alex, scored the winning penalty for the young Hatters although, the young Hatters would narrowly lose to Blackburn in the next round, with Alex signing, professional terms with Luton in June 2016.

However, Alex would make his first, and only appearance for the first team squad, during the EFL Trophy first round tie against Gillingham in August of the 2016/17 season, coming on as a substitute during a 2-1 victory for the Town. Further chances of breaking into the first team were few and far between, with an injury in pre season cited as having held back his progress in making additional matchday squads.

In December 2016, Alex was allowed to go on loan to his local Non League Club, Hanwell Town, who were competing in Evo-Stik Southern Division One Central, upon his return, he was released by the Club, signing a contract with Hayes & Yeading.

Alex has since trained as a Plumber.
