Alexander Davidson Date of Birth: Sep 27, 1878 Share "Alexander Davidson" on FacebookBorn in Beith in 1878, Alex caught the eye of Glossop North End whilst turning out for Third Lanark and played a number of games in their Football League side before a short spell at Manchester City saw him mostly in the reserves.
Alex then made a tour of Southern League clubs which included a short stop at Luton between February and April 1903. In his time with the Town, this hefty and fearless but erratic centre-forward scored eight goals in eight games, the best return of his career, but declined a new contract at the season’s end and moved to Fulham.
After a further nine clubs, Alex hung up his boots before passing away in 1929.
