Alf Black

Alf Black Date of Birth: Mar 15, 1902

Born in Milton Regis, Sittingbourne in 1902, Alf was spotted playing for his local side by Millwall who he signed for in 1924 and featured strongly as a fast and powerful left winger which culminated in the Lions walking away with the Division Three (South) championship in 1927-28.

Finding a starting place harder to come by in Division Two he was eventually released and came to Luton on trial in September 1931. He played in one game, a 3-2 defeat at Coventry, was not retained and went back to Kent to turn out for Folkestone.

Alf passed away in Chatham in 1972.
