Arthur Fry

An amateur goalkeeper who started his career with Ilford where he did reasonably well but after work commitments took him to Wanstead he turned out to be a star performer for the local side.

A tip off to one of Luton’s directors in August 1909 led to an offer of employment locally and the opportunity to play in the Town reserves and understudy Luton’s regular goalkeeper Dick Jarvis.

Arthur was only needed twice in the Southern League side in 1909-10 and moved on at the season’s end.
