Bert Lashbrooke

Bert Albert Lashbrooke Date of Birth: Nov 30, 1883

Born in Leyton in 1883, Bert remained an amateur throughout his football career firstly turning out for Leyton and then playing for the Town having moved to the area on account of his work.

He enjoyed four years with the Town, playing most of the time in the reserves, but did make the occasional appearance in the Southern League side playing at inside-forward.

An average career, you might say, but Bert wore another hat – that of cricketer for Essex. Moving to Oldham in 1913 he was then involved with Lancashire.

Bert passed away in Oldham in 1963.
