Bert Herbert Lawson Date of Birth: Apr 12, 1905 Share "Bert Lawson" on FacebookBert was the son of long standing Luton trainer Billy and was born in Luton in 1905. Despite growing up with the Town he decided to opt for Arsenal who he joined in 1924. Given an extended run at outside right in 1926-27, the signing of Joe Hulme limited his chances so he moved to Brentford in 1927 where he stayed for six years without fully establishing a place in the side.
Coming full circle, Bert came to Luton in the summer of 1933 but was only given one chance, at outside-right in a 4-2 defeat at Exeter, and was released at the end of the season to join Bedford.
Bert passed away in Stevenage in 1987.
