Billy Corkindale
Billy William Corkindale Date of Birth: May 19, 1901 Share "Billy Corkindale" on FacebookBorn in Langley Green, West Bromwich in 1901, Corky was picked up by Swansea after starring for Wellington Town.
A bandy-legged winger who could cut inside and shoot, Corky joined Clapton Orient when his first team chances diminished at Vetch Field and from there enjoyed a good spell at Millwall.
Looking for a winger, the Town paid a not inconsiderable £250 for his services in the summer of 1932 but he made only one first team start at Kenilworth Road in two seasons before finishing his career at non-League Shrewsbury.
Corky returned to this area and became a restaurateur before passing away in Ampthill in 1972..
