Billy William Hails Date of Birth: Feb 19, 1935 Share "Billy Hails" on FacebookDurham born Billy started off his career at Lincoln in 1953 but moved on to non-League Peterborough where he earned a reputation as a talented right winger, helping his side to five Midland League titles, election to the Football League followed by the championship of Division Four.
Billy finally left London Road in 1962 to join Northampton who he immediately assisted to the Third Division championship but his run of success ended when he moved to Luton in 1964 in exchange for Harry Walden.
Playing only three times for a relegation bound Hatters he went on a free transfer to Nuneaton then coached and managed Peterborough before acting as physio for Watford.
On retirement, Billy lived in Hemel Hempstead and passed away in 2017.
