Billy Walsh
Billy William Walsh Date of Birth: Feb 6, 1895 Share "Billy Walsh" on FacebookBorn in Horden, County Durham in 1895, Billy had played for his local side before guesting for various clubs during the Great War whilst working as a coalminer.
The Town were building up their squad for their first season back in the Football League in 1920 and signed Billy, along with his good friend Hilton Sidney, that summer.
Very much a play anywhere type, his best position was centre-half but whilst deputising for Ernie Simms up front he managed to net a couple of goals.
After two seasons at Luton, where he never managed a regular run in the side, he returned to Horden and from there enjoyed a good spell with Hartlepools.
