Bruce Rankin
Bruce Rankin Date of Birth: Jul 5, 1879 Share "Bruce Rankin" on FacebookBorn in Glasgow in 1880, Bruce moved to Liverpool at a young age and first came to prominence with Everton with whom he spent five years without gaining a regular place before two seasons at West Brom where he was a little more successful.
A further move to Manchester City left him in the wilderness so he was glad to get an opportunity at Luton, signing on in the summer of 1907.
A regular throughout the 1907-08 season, Bruce could play in any of the forward positions and soon struck up a good understanding with Bert Moody. It was therefore a surprise when he was not awarded a new contract, leaving him to drift back to the north-west before finishing his career at Wrexham where he won a Welsh FA Cup winners medal in 1911.
