Ceri Hughes

Ceri Morgan Hughes Date of Birth: Feb 26, 1971

A product of Luton Town’s extensive scouting network in South Wales, Ceri was just 19 when he made his Hatters debut in the top flight and within a few months was a regular first team member.

An aggressive, two footed attacking midfielder, Ceri was sadly dogged by long term injuries that held back his progress and the team was back in Division Two before he enjoyed a virtually injury free 1996/97 campaign which saw the Town reach the play-offs.

A dream move to Premiership Wimbledon followed for the Welsh international but a further stream of injuries cut back his appearances. A final transfer, this time to Portsmouth in 2000 ended with more wretched luck with injury, leaving Ceri no choice but to call it a day.
