Charlie Ferguson
Charlie Ferguson Date of Birth: Nov 22, 1910 Share "Charlie Ferguson" on FacebookBorn in Dunfermline in 1910, the Scottish Junior international winger was brought to England by Middlesbrough in 1933 but the faster pace of football led to a series of niggling injuries which cut back his appearances.
A move to Notts County proved no better but he blossomed following his transfer to Luton in 1937 where his strength and powerful shooting brought about the most successful spell in his playing career.
The chance to move to Aberdeen in 1939 was too good to turn down and he played there throughout the War.
After retiring from the playing side, Charlie became the much acclaimed Chief Scout at Sunderland where he unearthed a conveyor belt of talent.
Charlie passed away in North Shields in 1995.
