Chris signed professional forms for his local club, Oxford United, in May 1991 and soon made a name for himself as a speedy winger leading to England under-21 caps and a big money move to Nottingham Forest.

Unfortunately he lost his way at the City Ground leading to a loan spell at Lennie Lawrence’s Luton where he failed to pull up any trees, scoring once in 14 appearances.

After failing to win back a first team slot at Forest, Chris moved to Port Vale and then Stockport before dropping down to Slough, Dover and Aldershot Town.
