Chris Coyne

Chris Coyne Date of Birth: Dec 20, 1978

Brisbane born Chris came to these shores in 1996 following a £150,000 transfer from Perth SC to West Ham. Frustratingly, the tough tackling defender could only manage one substitute appearance for the Hammers and after loan spells at Brentford and Southend he joined Dundee on a free transfer in 2000.

Seeking a commanding centre-half to help secure the Luton Town back line as they attempted to win promotion from Division Three in 2001, manager Joe Kinnear paid £50,000 to bring Chris to Kenilworth Road and rarely has that sum of money been better spent.

After racking up over 200 first team games for the Hatters, and having been part of two promotion sides, all at Kenilworth Road were sad to see him leave for Colchester in January 2008.

After leaving Colchester, Chris returned to Australia and turned out for Perth Glory before becoming head of Bayswater City SC.
