After turning out for Hatfield Town as a youngster, Chris was spotted by Luton Town who offered him professional terms in February 1966 on his 18th birthday.

Only two months later he was making his League debut in a patched up Hatters side at Barrow which the Town won 1-0 against the odds. Down to 12 fit men, Luton manager George Martin was forced to pick Chris who acquitted himself well on the left wing ‘managing to get across some useful centres.’

Sadly that was as good as it got for Chris who left Kenilworth Road for Stevenage and then back to Hatfield, his home town club. Chris still lives in Hatfield.
