Connie Watkins
Connie Joseph Watkins Share "Connie Watkins" on FacebookBorn in Slip End in 1875, Connie broke into the Town reserve side in 1891 before making his first team debut in October of the following year.
Initially playing as a forward, Connie reverted to half-back at the start of 1893-94 where he played with distinction for the next three seasons, covering the early Southern League years.
After finishing playing Connie worked in the hat-trade where he was a straw hat blocker before running a small market gardening business upon retirement. He passed away in Luton on the 18th November 1927 and is buried at Church Cemetary.
