He returned to the UK to sign for Conference North (6th tier) Stafford Rangers in 2009. He made just 6 appearances and there followed an unsettled spells with Jerez Industrial, Chelmsford City, Telford United and a loan at Buxton.
A full back or centre half, Curtley joined Isthmian League Lowestoft Town in 2012. It proved a good move as he played 63 times in the next two seasons scoring once. It was enough for John Still to bring hm to Luton - “We’ve watched Curtley extensively this season and we’ve all been very impressed. He is an ambitious man who comes under the ‘young and hungry’ bracket, and one we see having a bright future ahead of him.”
Curtley made his debut on 13th September 2014 in the home win over Cheltenham Town. He kept his place in the next two games, away at York and Cambridge United. It was early on at the Abbey Stadium that he was substituted through injury which kept him out and he was unable to regain his place. He was transfer listed in the Summer of 2015 but stayed on for another year, only warming the bench as an used substitute 5 times.
Another unsettled period began with spells at Dagenham and Redbridge, Needham Market and Stowmarket Town. In 2021 Curtley signed for Felixstowe and Walton United where he stayed until retirement.
