Dan Gleeson

Dan Gleeson Date of Birth: Feb 17, 1985

Born in Cambridge, Dan started as a trainee with his home town club. He made his Cambridge debut on the 1st November 2003 in the old Divison Three against Kidderminster Harriers. 61 appearances and one goal followed before a move in 2006 to Notts County. It proved a failure and Dan was loaned back to Cambridge the same season with the move made permanent the following Summer.

A stylish right back, Dan played a further 120 games scoring once. It was in this second spell that he made 7 appearances for the England C side.

He signed a two year deal with the Town in 2010. At 6 foot 3 inches Dan gave much needed height to the back line and was a regular in his first season which ended with Wembley play off disappointment. His appearances dropped off in his second season due to injury and he found it hard to regain his place.

After being released by Paul Buckle when his contract expired, Dan signed for Lowestoft Town where he spent three years. Towards the end of his playing career he had spells with Cambridge City, St. Neots Town and Histon. He then turned to management and spells with Cambridge City and St. Neots and is currently managing Godmanchester Rovers whom he joined in 2023.
