David Greene

David Michael Greene Date of Birth: Oct 26, 1973

Luton born David joined his local club from school before making his debut for the Hatters in a 1-3 defeat at Grimsby in March 1993 as a 19 year old.

A reliable and tough centre-half, David seemed to have forced his way into a regular place in the side at the end of the following campaign in the absence of the injured Trevor Peake and starred in the F.A.Cup quarter-final draw at West Ham.

Sadly, David was hit by injuries and was unable to force his way back into the side and instead reluctantly accepted a move to Colchester.

David enjoyed four successful years at Layer Road before transferring in quick succession to Cardiff and then Cambridge United after which he retired from the game.
