Dennis Walker

Dennis Walker Date of Birth: Jul 5, 1948

Spennymoor born Dennis was picked up by West Ham as a youngster and after serving his apprenticeship signed professional forms in May 1966.

After failing to make the breakthrough at Upton Park, Dennis was released a year later and signed a short term contract at Luton just as the Hatters were about to embark on their record breaking Division Four championship winning campaign.

Dennis’ twelve minutes of fame came during the Town’s first home game of the season, against Barnsley, when he replaced injured full-back Fred Jardine but was not tested as the Hatters ran out comfortable winners.

Dennis moved on to Stevenage Town, Cambridge City, Dunstable, Corby and Lockheed Leamington in a long career in non-League and was, for a time, manager of Rothwell Town.
