Des Linton

Desmond Martin Linton Date of Birth: Sep 5, 1971

Although born in Birmingham, Des joined Leicester from school and was voted their Young Player of the Year in 1990. Having broken into the Foxes league side it came as a surprise when he was allowed to move to Luton as part of the deal that took Steve Thompson to Filbert Street.

A tall, fast defender who liked to push forward down the flanks Des was injured almost as soon as he started his Luton career and it was not until the 1992/93 season that he won a regular place in the Hatters side mainly at right back.

After he lost his place at Kenilworth Road, Des moved on to Peterborough on transfer deadline day in 1997 and after a short spell with Swindon finished his playing career with Cambridge City.

Des subsequently ran a courier business alongside some of his old Luton playing colleagues.
