Born in Feltham in 1911, Ernie was very promising 19 year old amateur playing for Athenian League side Southall when he was picked up by the Town as ‘one for the future’ in 1930.

A tall, strong and talented central defender he did not wait long for a first team chance but after only ten games in 1930-31 he suffered a bad injury. He made a comeback early in the following campaign but had not fully recovered so decided to retire from the game.

Ernie passed away in Feltham in 1972.
