Frank Conboy

Frank Conboy Date of Birth: Sep 5, 1947

After signing professional for Tommy Docherty’s Chelsea in 1965 Frank unfortunately failed to secure a First Division slot at Stamford Bridge and moved to Luton on a free transfer in October 1966.

Becoming Hatters manager George Martin’s last signing, Frank made his debut in a 2-5 home defeat at the hands of Notts County and made a total of 19 league appearances, mostly as right-half, during the club’s worst ever season.

After being released in 1967, Frank spent a year out of the game working as a painter and decorator with his father before joining Southern League Cheltenham for three successful years.

Frank now lives in Tadworth and is still a self-employed painter and decorator.
