Fred Haycock
Fred Haycock Date of Birth: Oct 8, 1885 Share "Fred Haycock" on FacebookBorn in Smethwick in 1886, Fred joined West Brom in 1904 but could only make 15 League appearances in two years (albeit scoring eight goals) so moved on to Crewe and then on to Luton in September 1908.
A winger or inside-forward, he preferred the latter, who banged in ten Southern League goals in 1908-09, finishing second top scorer.
A nomadic player he moved on to Portsmouth after one season and subsequently another four clubs before the Great War ended his playing career.
Fred passed away in Dudley in 1953.
