Geoff Aunger

Canadian international Geoff came to the U.K on the recommendation of Craig Forrest, a fellow countryman who was goalkeeper for Ipswich.

Geoff failed to make the grade at Portman Road but managed to persuade Hatters manager David Pleat to offer him a contract after a series of goalscoring performances for Luton reserves.

Handed a first team debut at Crystal Palace in November 1993, Geoff scored with his first kick of the game. The Town eventually went down 2-3 as did the career of Geoff who made only four more appearances for Luton before brief stays at Sudbury, Chester and Stockport.

Since leaving these shores he turned out for several sides in the USA and was eventually inducted into the American National Soccer Hall of Fame.
